South Australia Better Earth Works Program

WHAT IS Better Earth Works?

Better Earth Works (BEW) is delivered by Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA) in partnership with the South Australian Government.

BEW is aimed at assisting people to gain employment and/or further training by providing them with skills and experience while they participate in projects that contribute to the conservation of South Australia’s natural and cultural heritage.

Why do BEW?

BEW offers accredited training and practical hands-on skills in Conservation and Land Management. It is an ideal transition program if you are currently not working or looking for a career change. BEW can be used as a vehicle you can jump on until you get that all important job. Whilst you are gaining experience on the program you can be highlighting your involvement in your resume and at interviews.

Participants will also receive protective clothing, safety boots and sun-safe hats for their outdoor work, and also have access to designated transportation spots.

Is it difficult?

You should be in good health and be reasonably fit, and prepared to take part to the best of your ability. We ask all prospective volunteers to declare any medical conditions, allergies, disabilities or existing injuries that may affect participation; our staff will discuss these with you in a confidential manner.
