HP
In 2007, HP and Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA) joined forces to bring technology and the environment closer together in a positive way.
The affiliation was a result of HP’s global commitment to the environment and recommendations from Booz Allen Hamilton who advised CVA to apply greater resources to information technology to support their four business objectives:
- Attract new volunteers and retain existing volunteers
- Improve efficiency of processes
- Build capacity to grow and keep pace with development and the needs of the community/environment
- Build eco-resilience – management of information
Thanks to HP, CVA has increased their server capacity with new HP Blade technology which has increased CVA’s storage capacity and security. In addition, HP provided notebooks and printers which have greatly assisted in mobilizing the CVA team nationally.
Over the next 12 months, HP and CVA are launching a new schools initiative linking CVA volunteer teams to support the implementation of their schools' environment programs. The program will support the schools directly with the implementation of their environmental project management initiatives and provide technology to the schools which will enable them to network with other schools and share best practice. In addition, HP is looking forward to supporting CVA through technology with other innovative projects such as bush land monitoring and evaluation using the latest HP iPAQ technology.
