Project: Time out at Timbertop, Prospect
Fully Booked
Location: Timbertop Reserve, Prospect Dates: 22nd April 2014

Main Task:
  • Planting
  • Weed Removal
Interests:
  • PARKS & RESERVES
  • HEALTHY COMMUNITIES

Timbertop is a peaceful and attractive bushland reserve that sits in a quiet suburb of Prospect adjacent to Prospect Reservoir. The reserve is comprised of an important piece of Cumberland Plains Woodland - designated as an Endangered Ecological Community - which supports a range of species, notably grey box eucalypts and a variety of native shrubs, grasses and flowers. These include the locally rare western boobalia at its only location within Blacktown.

Although much of the reserve is in good condition it is still threatened with invasion by exotic weeds. In partnership with Blacktown Council and the very active local bush-care group we will be helping to restore this area through a program of bush re-generation activities such as weeding and the planting of local natives
