Kangaroo Island Wildlife Research

Join us for a fantastic 4 night package. Explore the diversity of Kangaroo Island with research biologist.  Walk the land and delve into the history of Kartan culture with a Raminjeri resident.  Learn about the story behind the scenery and the source for many international documentaries and publications.

Radio Tracking for echidna or goanna, monitoring biodiversity with hair tubes, remote sensing cameras and night vision observations, acoustic monitoring, seasonal wader surveys, non destructive invertebrate and bird surveys are routine parts of the field work at Pelican Lagoon Research & Wildlife Centre.  Join resident biologist in the field, explore the micro world back at base camp or sit in the waterhole reading room where you can use the research library.  Home to several nationally listed Threatened Species the rich plant and animal communities of Kangaroo Island offer a biological window into the unique geography of Australia.  Living in nature, life is rich and rewarding.
