montague Island - Lighthouse Accommodation Information

Stay on Montague Island with a group and enjoy the facilities of the Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage.

Suitability

Ages 12 years and over (younger by arrangement). Participants must be able to climb the Island jetty's ladder and the moderately steep hill to the top. Some fitness may be required for participation in self-guided activities and other aspects of this experience

What to bring

Cater for yourselves in the fully-equipped kitchen. All provisions must be brought in with you as there is no shop on the Island. We recommend bringing layers of clothing, sensible shoes and sun protection. All linen, towels, and bedding are provided.

Program Location

Montague Island Nature Reserve is a gazetted Nature Reserve that holds significant biodiversity and cultural values. The Island is located 9 kilometres off shore from Narooma.

Accommodation

The Montague Island Head Keepers Quarters provides accommodation for up to 12 guests. Linen, soap and bath towels are provided. Guest facilities include 5 bedrooms, two shared bathrooms (shower and toilet facilities), lounge with ocean views, reading and TV room, dining and kitchen area.

Boat Travel

Transfer to Montague Island is on a fully surveyed and licensed passenger boat. The Island is 9kms off shore with a travel time of approximately 30 minutes. Sea conditions are frequently choppy. Boat Departures may vary due to sea conditions. In some instances transfers may be cancelled or delayed which may include a delayed departure to and from the Island. In the event of a cancelled departure due to sea conditions a full refund will be provided.
