Application Guidelines
Conservation Volunteers are able to assist schools with the implementation of their sustainability plans and/or school environmental plans or projects. Whilst we can give some advice regarding the basic logistics for the project, it is expected that the school has a plan for delivery of the project and for maintenance post project.
Conservation Volunteers can undertake most activities, however are unable to operate power tools or heavy machinery. While CVA provide the ‘people power’ to undertake the tasks any materials required are to be provided by the school e.g. plants if planting is the activity
Projects that are unsuitable for volunteers include tree felling, installing water tanks and projects that involve high risk physical activity.
Projects requiring extensive work that should be undertaken by qualified tradespeople are not considered suitable for volunteers.
Schools will coordinate any parents, teachers or students participating on the project.
