Rio Tinto Conservation Leaders

Rio Tinto and Conservation Volunteers Australia have worked in partnership together for nearly 10 years on the Conservation Leaders program.

The objectives of the Conservation Leaders are:

•  To demonstrate a joint commitment to environmental responsibility through raising and maintaining the management standard of volunteer- based practical conservation work in Australia, and internationally.

•  To demonstrate a joint commitment to supporting the capacity of identified regional communities to better manage and protect their natural environments by supporting on-the-ground projects and developing volunteer management skills

Conservation Leaders is a multi-faceted partnership that includes activities with local, national and global impacts and is complementary to and supports local partnerships with the Coal and Allied Community Trust, the Rio Tinto WA Future Fund and the Comalco Community Fund.
