Woodside and Conservation Volunteers Australia

In 2007 Woodside is supporting the Perth Waterways program in the newly declared Swan Canning Riverpark.  This is the 5th year of the relationship between Conservation Volunteers Australia and Woodside

Through the Perth Waterways program Conservation Volunteers will be engaged in 120 days of project restoring waterways with related activities such as planting native tree species, flora surveys, constructing erosion control barriers and weed management.  Other activities will include maintaining walking trails and fencing.  All these activities will be undertaken in the Swan Canning Riverpark.

Woodside also supports a program in Exmouth undertaking activities at Cape Range National Park.  Conservation Volunteers will be assisting with the maintenance of the Milyering Visitor Centre and undertaking maintenance of walking tracks and trails. This is an outstanding location, 1200 km from Perth but just metres from the famous Ningaloo Reef!

Thanks to the support of Woodside, Conservation Volunteers has also installed a rabbit proof fence to protect vegetation, undertake rehabilitation activities at Shell Beach at Shark Bay and researched small mammals as part of a program at the Captive Breeding Centre to improve the condition of threatened animals before being re-released into a World Heritage listed area.
