Outward Bound Australia

Outward Bound offers exhilarating personal development courses that take people into new territories, giving them the opportunity to test themselves, inspire each other and come back with a new outlook on life and the world.
Outward Bound is firmly established at the forefront of personal development and experiential outdoor education. Since 1956, more than 250,000 people have participated in their programs! Being part of the international Outward Bound community means they have close ties with the many Outward Bound schools operating around the world. Outward Bound's desire is to assist you in your journey of self-discovery. They offer their programs as tools to help you develop your potential and achieve greatness in your life. The more we understand ourselves, the more we can be of service.
Outward Bound Australia and Conservation Volunteers have formed a partnership which we believe will leverage our respective skills and experience in connecting people with themselves and their environment, and with what they can achieve in the world. Our relationship has formed over a number of years, and involves skill sharing and capacity building between our two organizations which builds on our respective strengths as practical, experiential, non government organizations working for the benefit of our communities.
Each year with Outward Bound support Conservation Volunteers rewards select CVA staff by sending them on the Outward Bound Catalyst program for emerging community and business leaders.
“I would recommend placing staff from different levels of the organization and from different offices, onto a Catalyst course. It provides participants with new skills and experience in communication, management, leadership, feedback, time management, effective listening and emphasizes the people – process – product chain whilst having a great time in a safe experiential environment.” Jen Byrne Wetlands Officer, CVA
