Naturewise Eco Weekends

Bungonia

Location: Bungonia

Departs: Canberra

Bungonia is a small town about 80 minutes’ drive to the North East from Canberra and 20 minutes South East of Goulburn. Bungonia has a very active local Progress Association that is restoring, and improving many historic buildings and parks, and also building walking trails, and memorials. The work of the Progress Association is supported by the Goulburn Mulwarry Council who provide much of the material and technical advice required for projects in town.

Bungonia is at the Western edge of Morton National Park, and sits right beside Bungonia Gorge. There are many walks along the Gorge with its many vistas and other sights in Morton National Park – all on the edge of town.

Conservational activities will include establishing photo-points and mapping the current vegetation to record what may be removed and what should be retained and where new plantings should be placed. This work will also identify the route for a walking trail; its construction will be integrated into the conservation program.

Your participation will make a positive difference to Australia’s environment.
