Cape York Turtle Rescue  

Join a group of volunteers, local residents and researchers tagging nesting Flat Back and Olive Ridley turtles at Mapoon on the western coast of Cape York. The Mapoon Community has extended an invitation for visitors to participate in scheduled camps during the winter nesting season, and to help the Indigenous Rangers in their research work into protecting the turtles and other marine life.

Rates and Departures

The Encounter Cape York 7 day package is $4499 per person twin share for CVA members and $4999 for non-members . This price is ex-Weipa and includes accommodation, meals, all activities and transfers. Scheduled departures between June and November 2008 with a maximum of 8 guests per departure.
