Radio Tracking for echidna or goanna, monitoring biodiversity with hair tubes, remote sensing cameras and night vision observations, acoustic monitoring, seasonal wader surveys, non destructive invertebrate and bird surveys are routine parts of the field work at Pellican Lagaoon Research & Wildlife Centre. Join resident biologist in the field, explore the micro world back at base camp or sit in the waterhole reading room where you can use the research library. Home to several nationally listed Threatened Species the rich plant and animal communities of Kangaroo Island offer a biological window into the unique geography of Australia.
The Pelican Lagoon Research & Wildlife Centre is an internationally recognized model for sustainable research and living. Showcased at World Expo 2000 in Hannoever Germany the centre is part of a mentor program for community and land care groups around the world. Since 1980 the driving concept at Pelican Lagoon has been to provide practical solutions for work and living using models from nature, simple products and recycling.
