Now you can experience the ultimate Australian island getaway as a private guest on the gorgeous Montague Island.  Brought to you exclusively by Naturewise and the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), this breathtaking experience will bring you closer than ever to nature, while enjoying the luxury of beautifully appointed, heritage-listed lighthouse cottage accommodation.

The ultimate private getaway can be booked as a single, couple, or with friends/family to a group size of up to 12.  Your experienced NPWS host will arrange island activities selected by you.  They can be as active as, seal viewing, snorkelling with seals, island and lighthouse tour, whale watching and little penguin viewing (seasonal) and participation in island conservation activities; or as passive as relaxing, reading, napping, enjoying fresh, delicious food and taking in the spectacular views – the island is yours, you can decide!

 

Guest facilities:

  • Restored guesthouse accommodation in lighthouse quarters, modern fittings in keeping with style of Edwardian era.
  • Five deluxe bedrooms (configuration details to follow).
  • Two shared bathrooms (shower, toilets).
  • Comfortable, cosy lounge, with small library, bay windows and sweeping ocean views.
  • Spacious dining room and large, fully renovated kitchen.

  • Two nights exclusive accommodation on Montague Island.

Boat transfer times Narooma/Montague Island:

Departs: 9.30am from the Narooma Town Wharf

Returns: 1:30pm (approximate time)

Please note:

  • Exclusive boat transfers are not guaranteed, but can be arranged if required (additional cost).
  • During the whale season (late September – early November) boat transfers include whale watching.
  • Day tours operate to Montague Island and other visitors may be on the island for a few hours.
  • Sea conditions can affect boat transfers to and from Montague Island.

Visiting Montague Island Nature Reserve:

Montague Island is a gazetted Nature Reserve that holds significant biodiversity and cultural values. To respect and protect Montague Island all the activities are undertaken in accordance with National Parks guidelines and legislation. For more information on restricted activities, such as fishing and snorkeling off the island, please contact us directly. These activities can be provided by a charter operator at an additional cost.

 

Booking terms and conditions

To secure your booking a $800 deposit is required. Full program payment is required 30 days prior to the program date.                           

In the event of a cancellation:

  • The minimum cancellation fee is a $200 administration fee
  • Cancellations made 30 - 15 days prior to the program departure date will incur a 50% cancellation fee
  • Cancellations made 14 days or less prior to the program departure date will incur a 100% cancellation fee
  • A cancellation fee is payable within 14 days of the cancellation
  • Fare is non refundable should you fail to join the tour or leave the program at any time
  • CVA and DEC reserve the right to cancel any program in the event of bad weather conditions deeming boat travel to the island unsafe. In these instances your full deposit, or program payment, will be refunded
