Grampians National Park Mammal Monitoring Autumn Program |
![]() |
Join us for a hands-on adventure in the Grampians National Park and contribute to vital research studies, monitoring the survival of small mammal species in the park. The research project, led by Parks Victoria and Deakin University, will investigate what impact the severe 2006 Grampians wildfire has had on the regions small mammal populations.
Each day you’ll be transported by 4WD into remote locations within the national park, armed with data-sheets, a clipboard and a UHF radio. Close encounters with wildlife are common as you work alongside our local researcher to check traps, process wildlife and record data. Along the way enjoy spectacular views and regular sightings of other Grampians ‘residents’ including kangaroos, wallabies, emus and stunning birdlife.
The advanced Eco Certified Naturewise Conservation Holiday experience is fun, interactive and truly unforgettable.

“This trip was so much more than could possibly be described in mere words. I was treated with respect by the researchers and welcomed into their world openly. The physical activities associated with the monitoring were varied and new. These are not every day experiences, believe me! The absolute joy from what I encountered during those few days will stay with me for a long time... can't wait to do it again.” Philip Neill, South Australia
