A new innovative ecotourism venture - available from March 2008, and operating through until August 2008 (at other times when possible).
Your booking secures you the entire Head Keepers Quarters for a group of up to 12 persons, or, for the ultimate getaway, book for just a couple! .... Your choice!
You or your group stays in the stately and historic, fully-restored Head Keepers Quarters.
Facilities include:
- five bedrooms, lounge, dining, enclosed and open verandahs.
- two bathrooms, two toilets.
- period-style decorations and fittings.
- fully-equipped kitchen
Explore the Island with information and interpretation provided through self-guided walks for you to enjoy at your leisure.
Dates:
Book a date to suit you or your own group (between March and August)
Choose from a minimum of 2 nights to a maximum of 4 nights.
Your stay includes:
- An exciting sea journey out and back
- Seal colony viewing during the boat trip
- Tour of the accommodation and light station, and a briefing session with a NPWS Guide
- Gull and Tern breeding areas surrounding you in season - Check our wildlife calendar - for an approximate guide
- Spectacular scenery - 360 degree views
- Whale migration (June – July and Oct – Nov)
- Plenty of time to relax and soak up the surroundings
- Self-guided walking tracks with interpetation and information
Costs include:
- Boat transfers to and from the Island
- Accommodation in the period-decorated Head Keepers Quarters, 4.5 star. Check the accommodation and facilities here.
- Linen, towels and bedding are supplied.
Bring your own food and refreshments to prepare in our fully-equipped kitchen.
Prices:
- 2 nights, for between 2 and 12 people $3000 ($125pp per night for 12)
- 3 nights, for between 2 and 12 people $4000 ($111pp per night for 12)
- 4 nights, for between 2 and 12 people $5000 ($104pp per night for 12)
Optional snorkeling or diving trips with the seals are available by arrangement with a local charter operator for an extra cost (approx $33 pp). Subject to conditions.
PLEASE NOTE:
Participants MUST be able to climb a ladder at the island jetty and walk up and down the Island's steep and rocky terrain. Persons with mobility issues are asked to check when booking. Some activities require moderate fitness levels.
