Itinerary

We depart Canberra city for our 45 minute drive to Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve. The name Tidbinbilla is derived from the Aboriginal word, 'Jedbinbilla', a place where 'boys become men'. Experience a valley rich in European heritage and over 20,000 years of Aboriginal history.   Walk among kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, birds, emus and other wildlife in their own native habitat.

Our expert CVA guide will take you for a behind the scenes look in the Sanctuary at Tidbinbilla. You will also discover the crucial role Tidbinbilla plays in captive wildlife management, including endangered species breeding programs for the Northern Corroboree Frog and the Victorian Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby.

Afterwards contribute something to this special place and work with the volunteer team based at Tidbinbilla, participating in hands on conservation projects. Finish your adventure with a BBQ lunch amongst the wildlife before returning to Canberra city.

Contribution to Conservation

This tour provides you with the opportunity to support ongoing conservation activities at Tidbinbilla and across Australia. As well as your practical contribution during the tour, your support will help fund ongoing conservation programs through Conservation Volunteers Australia.
